Editorial policy
United Outdoor Living aims to make outdoor-living choices easier to understand. We explain the basis of our guidance, distinguish general suggestions from matters that need expert or local input, and correct errors plainly.
Accuracy and scope
We check that descriptions, comparisons and instructions are internally consistent and suited to the stated topic. We avoid presenting personal preference as a universal rule. Advice about structural work, electrical or gas installations, hazardous materials, or other safety-critical tasks is outside our how-to scope; readers should seek an appropriately qualified professional when a project reaches that point. Where conditions or local requirements may change the answer, we make that limitation clear.
Independence and labelling
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a promise of coverage to a commercial partner. Paid placements and partner material are identified clearly wherever they appear. A partnership does not guarantee favourable editorial treatment, and editorial coverage is not a substitute for a label explaining a commercial relationship.
Corrections and illustrations
If a reader spots a factual error or unclear wording, they can send the article title and the detail in question through the Contact page. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making substantial corrections clear to readers. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; we do not present such illustrations as documentary photographs of a real place or project.
Outdoor space earns its place through use
Start with what you want to do outside, then choose the layout, furnishings and care that support it.
